Light and Shadow

I took this shot today for an online photo assignment to illustrate “light and shadow.”  I figured that early afternoon would be the perfect time to get this shot as the sun would be in the western sky and would create some dramatic shadows from the inside of the “Snake Bridge” here in Tucson.  For the most part I am pretty happy with the results, but something odd happened.

Take a look at the “beams” on the left side that is the steel mesh frame.  The green foliage looks very over saturated right at the edges of the beams.  I suspect that it has something to do with the sharpening I did in Photoshop.  It only appears, obviously anyway, in smaller versions of the image, such as this one.  I have no doubt that I could fix it in Photoshop, but that is actually more effort than I am willing to spend on this image. :-)

What The Duck

If you are even a little bit interested in photography, you really should check out What The Duck.

This one really struck home after some recent “compliments” from one of my wife’s co-workers. :-)

Do they really think that saying “you must have a really good camera” is a compliment, even if it is meant as one?

Clear Skies And A Full Moon

Tonight was the first chance I had to get out and take a shot of the moon, when it wasn’t slightly overcast, with the Bigma 50-500.

I love this lens!
