I almost deleted this image in camera.  I saw this guy on Fisherman’s Wharf in San Fransisco last weekend.  I had this image in my mind for a shot I wanted to take of him, but forgot that I had some settings in my camera that would lead to a pretty long exposure.  This shot ended up being a 2 second exposure, handheld.  I almost deleted it in camera as I knew that it was not the image I had in mind, but decided to wait until I got home.

Needless to say, the shot I took that I actually planned came out decent, but nothing special.  This image on the other hand really speaks to me and reflects the feeling of watching this guy that night.

Next time someone tells you to delete “failed” images in camera to save card space, beat them about the head and shoulders with your tripod. :-)
