Sun Devil Stadium

This is an image I have been wanting to make for the last 2 years, since moving to the Phoenix area from Tucson. It is also an image that you have a very limited number of nights every year that it is even possible to capture.

I am not sure that it really needs much explanation, but with the exception of a slight crop and some very minor edits, this was all done in camera shooting through my 50-500mm Sigma “Bigma” lens. Ironically it really was overkill as I shot it at 50mm. :-)

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed capturing an image that has been on my “must capture” list for so long.

Water Wheels

You have seen this scene before, probably dozens if not hundreds of times. It is one of those “must get” shots when you are visiting the Sedona, AZ area. I made this image when my friend Justin Ward was visiting with a couple of his photog friends from Texas.

There is a reason that this very scene is photographed as much as it is, it is in an easily accessible location and is a gorgeous location. It is very hard to make this “your own” but I decided that I would make my version of this a black and white.

I hope you enjoy it. I had a great time that day shooting with Justin and his friends from Texas.

I took this sunset shot last night. You are looking at South Mountain in Phoenix, AZ.

This is a 5 image HDR. Sometimes the over the top HDR works, sometimes it would destroy an image. As always, click on the image to see a larger version.
